Microbial-Induced Corrosion of 3D-Printed Stainless Steels: A Surface Science Investigation

چکیده

Stainless steel is a material manufactured for its high corrosive resistance and the first choice of in range applications. Microbial-induced corrosion can cause significant damage to metals responsible approximately 20% damage. The stainless reduced during manufacturing processes, including welding or joining methods, as connection points prevent metal from reforming passivation layer. Additive processes allow intricate designs be produced without need bolts. However, it unknown how layering method additive (AM) will affect steel’s layer and, turn, resistance. This research compares 316L using laser deposition traditionally AISI 316 determine affects material. Samples are incubated over 21-day period with Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans (A.f) Leptospirillum ferooxidans (L.f) modified HH medium an approximate pH 1.8 kept at constant temperature 30 °C. Scanning electron microscopy Auger spectroscopy surface analysis techniques used identify any on samples. introductory AM technique. results show react acidic environments if could conjunction other materials underground pipes soils.

A Corrosion Study of Grain-Refined 304L Stainless Steels Produced by the Martensitic Process

AISI 304L austenitic stainless steel with different grain sizes of 0.5 -12 μm was obtained through the martensitic process. Corrosion behavior of different samples was investigated in a 0.5M HCl solution using open circuit potential, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy tests. Also, the correlation between the grain size and pitting corrosion resistance was as...

Analysis of deformation induced martensitic transformation in stainless steels

Many studies monitoring the formation of martensite during the tensile deformation of austenite report data which are, in principle, affected by both the applied stress and the resulting plastic strain. It is not clear in these circumstances whether the transformation is stress induced (i.e. the stress provides a mechanical driving force) or whether the generation of defects during deformation ...

Study of the Corrosion Resistance of Austenitic Stainless Steels during Conversion of Waste to Biofuel

The paper deals with the corrosion behavior of stainless steels as candidate materials for biofuel production plants by liquefaction process of the sorted organic fraction of municipal solid waste. Corrosion tests were carried out on AISI 316L and AISI 304L stainless steels at 250 °C in a batch reactor during conversion of raw material to bio-oil (biofuel precursor), by exposing specimens eithe...
